The PEPPERL & FUCHS KFD2-SR2-EX1.W.SM is a 2-channel intrinsic safety barrier from the K-System family, engineered to provide galvanic isolation and energy limitation for intrinsically safe circuits in hazardous areas. It functions as a switch amplifier, interfacing NAMUR proximity switches or mechanical contacts located in Zone 0, 1, or 2 with control systems in the safe area via relay outputs. This module is critical for ensuring compliance with explosion protection standards in process automation applications.
