This device is an intrinsic safety barrier from the K-System KFD2 series, engineered for signal conditioning and galvanic isolation. It functions as a switch amplifier, enabling the safe operation of NAMUR sensors or mechanical contacts located in hazardous areas by providing a clean relay output to the safe area. Its primary application is to prevent ignition in explosive atmospheres while ensuring reliable process control.
